The Maid of Fairbourne Hall
Julie Klassen

Can you imagine living life in the lap of luxury? Having everything done for you? From having help changing your clothes, doing your hair, cleaning the home, every meal cooked for you, anything and everything you want or need is done for you. Wouldn't that be nice? Now, look at the flip side of things. Getting up in the wee hours of the hours to start cleaning, dragging buckets of water to this room and that room. Having to become invisible each time your "boss" appeared. Listening to the gripe and compliant and character slurs without ever being able to defend or comment.

That is exactly what happens in Julie Klassin's book entitled The Maid of Fairbourne Hall. Everything she has come to know changes in the blink of an eye. A marriage forced onto her that she does not want. Her virtue about to be compromised. The only choice she has...Flee! But what is she to do? She has no where to go and no experience of life outside her comfy upbringing. She is in for a rude awakening. She is to learn the hardships and truth of life and the people that she thought she knew.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others. It is not so much of a romance but more of a telling about historical lives with a little romance budding, a mystery to solve and friendships to form.
I recieved this book from Bethany House to be read and reveiwed.
