Love in Disguise

The moment I saw this cover, I was intrigued. Something about it drew me in. I try my best not to judge a book by its cover, but this one...my thought was that I bet it is going to be good!

I was not disappointed. Ellie is a character you will not forget. With her background and history of always being around theatrics and the stage, she has a natural curiousity. She watches people with a critical eye to see how a character developes as far as voice, expression, demeaner, etc.

She was born into a stage family. Never quite getting there herself, she has always been in the background. Ellie mastered the makeup and costume for the actress that she was in the employee of and knows what it takes to master a quick change.

All this knowledge and talent! She is in for a ride. Suddenly unemployed, she must find work. Just so happens, she over hears of a detective job and the lady of disguises is now in business.

Can she discover the silver thief before the miners go bankrupt? Will she lose her heart and her identity in the process? Does she come to discover her worth to her heavenly Father through it all?

I loved the book and will look for more of Carol Cox.

My Foolish Heart

Unknown to her tiny town of Deep Haven, Isadora Presley spends her nights as Miss Foolish Heart, the star host of a syndicated talk radio show. Millions tune in to hear her advice on dating and falling in love, unaware that she’s never really done either. Issy’s ratings soar when it seems she’s falling in love on-air with a caller. A caller she doesn’t realize lives right next door.

After a devastating accident that took her mother's life, Isadora Presley suffers such severe panic attacks that she rarely leaves her home due to her fear of a meltdown.

Caleb Knight served a tour of duty in Iraq and paid a steep price. The last thing he wants is pity, so he hides his disability and moves to Deep Haven to land his dream job as the high school football coach. When his beautiful neighbor catches his eye, in a moment of desperation he seeks advice from My Foolish Heart, the show that airs before his favorite sports broadcast.
Before he knows it, Caleb finds himself drawn to the host—and more confused than ever. Is his perfect love the woman on the radio . . . or the one next door?

I have always been a fan of Susan May Warren's novels so I was happy for the opportunity to review My Foolish Heart. This one just may be my favorite one yet.

My Stubborn Heart

Ms Kate just wants to be married. Find the man the God meant for her to have and raise a family. However, at the age of 32, this still has not happened.

Matt has been married, to a former Miss America. He was a star Hockey player. But no longer. He has become a shell of the man he was.

Kate travels with her Grandmother to Pennsylvania to open and restore Chapel Bluff. She did not expect to meet Matt who is the handy man that is working to update and restore the house and the chapel. Matt is a one answer type of man. But, Kate takes on the challenge to get him to open up and thaw his frozen heart. It is just the case worker coming out in her.

Then you have the senior citizen characters that form the group that also play their part in this book. The situation with Velma and Morty was very comical. It is just a reminder of the things that we do at times to please the ones that we love.

The addition for classic antiques was a perk considering how much I love things with history.

I was delighted with the story. Becky Wade is an author that I will look for again when looking for something to read. I like how she brought in the waiting on God to make the way.

I received this book as a review copy from Bethany House.
